This is an enchanting story of a noble, but an eccentric old gentlemen, Don Quixote, who dreams of an ideal world where men are brave knights and women beautiful and kind ladies. He takes us on a chivalrous adventure with his trusty servant, believing he can achieve and create better life full of beauty and goodness. The Ballet is made as per the novel, by the Spanish writer Miguel de Cervantes, that encompasses universal values such as love, friendship and honesty. All the elements of the great classical ballets are here : emotions, drama and vivid characters.
The music of L.Minkus is extraordinary, full of Spanish flair and atmosphere.
A flamboyant and festive ballet with choreography by M.Petipa and A.Gorsky with the balletic bravado, intricate footwork and virtuoso variations claims to be one of the most beautiful and moving of all ballets.
