Within the framework of the Open Air Factory and the thematic World Travellers, the European Capital of Culture – Pafos2017 presents Ali Di Meola, probably one of the most important virtuoso guitarists and musicians.
Al Di Meola and his musicians, within the Elysium Unplugged 2015 world tour, will perform in a unique evening at the Pafos Ancient Odeon, with works from the Beatles, Astor Piazzola and other big names of influence in the last twenty years, as well as brand new compositions. Di Meola’s bio, includes collaborations and recordings with names such as Paco de Lucia, Luciano Pavarotti, Carlos Santana, Frank Zappa, among others. His discogaphy dates back to 1976 with a total of 33 albums including the latest named after his tour, «Elyisum».
As he mentions, “ELYSIUM“ means ’the place of perfect happiness’ and reflects his state of mind. A state of mind that has been shaped by a 40 year long career of highest musical standards.
