About the event:
The performance "One is the Sun, the other is the Moon" is a performance that negotiates the dialectical relationship of masculine and feminine nature with tradition and not necessarily identified with a woman or a man. It will take the viewer on a journey through lyrics, sounds and dances from Cyprus, Cyclades, Dodecanese, Crete, Drama, Thrace, Pontus and Southern Italy. The performance will include musical performances from all three records of Papadopoulou and the group Aegean Arc (Notio Toxo).
Performers will be, dancers and the choir of Politistiko Ergastiri (lead by Eleni Xyda)

Our prominent quests:
Katerina Papadopoulou, a musician with a notable presence in traditional music events. In the field of Greek folk music in the recent years she has developed musical projects such as "The Anastatica project", The Aegean Arc (Notio Toxo) and “Aura” and has been recognised together with her partners in Europe with many presentations as well as awards such as the first place in the playlist of the Balkan World Music Chart with their new work “Aura”.

Politistiko Ergastiri Ayion Omoloyiton, with 25 years of history and creation, is active in cultural matters in the city of Nicosia. It has presented numerous performances in Cyprus and abroad. The performances are not intended simply to present music and dances but to reflect on contemporary issues. Dance does not function as an end in itself, but as a means of expression, creating relationships and communicating with the audience as well as between the participants.
