Moon and Stars - Music Without Borders

The famous Acordes Guitar Ensemble (with nine guitars and a contrabass) will present a programme with music written for guitars as well as covers of famous pieces from the broader Mediterranean (Greece, Lebanon, Egypt, Turkey, Spain), Latin America and traditional Cypriot melodies adapted by Evagoras Karageorgis. The music has been selected according to the location and refers to the theme of Eros-Love-Beauty. Other musical instruments will accompany the guitars, and the singer Pavlina Constantopoulou will perform. By Evagoras Karageorgis and Zoi Paisanou-Marcou.

Moon and Stars - Second Life

Eleftheria Arvanitaki is famous for her unique and beautiful vocal interpretation of ancient and modern Greek poetry by poets such as Sappho, Maria Polydouri, Kostas Karyotakis, Napoleon Lapathiotis, and Odysseas Elytis, to name but a few. Her repertoire comprises Cypriot traditional songs as well. For the European Capital of Culture Pafos2017, Eleftheria Arvanitaki will offer a music performance based on poetry in a location of beauty and love, while her artistic excellence proves once more how each verse can actually come to life. IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR THE AUDIENCE

4th & 5th of August 2017

On the 4th and 5th of August 2017, the European Capital of Culture – Pafos2017 hosts two events at Aphrodite’s Rock area (Petra tou Romiou). Both events are sold out!

To avoid any inconvenience during the two-day event, the Organisation Pafos2017 makes the following announcements:

Arrival to the venue

1. All spectators are required to follow the road signs.

2. Part of the old Limassol-Pafos/Pafos-Limassol motorway will be closed between 6pm and 12pm for the event’s needs. Entrance will be allowed only to ticket holders.

Parking areas

3. All spectators are required to park their vehicles in designated parking areas.

4. People with disabilities are required to park their vehicles in designated parking areas, provided they present relevant proof. Special arrangements will be made for easy access to the event’s venue for people with disabilities.

5. All spectators are requested to arrive to the parking areas on time; that is no later than 8pm.

6. Free bus transfers will be provided to ticket holders from the parking areas to the venue. All transfers will take place between 6.30pm and 8.15pm.

7. After the event finishes, free bus transfers will be provided from the venue to the parking areas.

Venue area

8. All spectators are requested to show their tickets upon entering the venue area and at the control points.

9. The entrance to the venue will be allowed from 7.30pm to 8.20pm at the latest.

10. Seats are not numbered.

11. The entrance will be allowed only to ticket holders.

12. Due to the venue’s specific nature, smoking and the consumption of food and beverages is STRICTLY PROHIBITED.

13. Smoking and the consumption of food and beverages is allowed only in the area of the cafeteria, opposite the venue.

14. For security reasons, the use of drones and lasers is prohibited.

15. The audience is encouraged to wear comfortable shoes (no high heels).
