The Trojan Women by Euripides

One of the most important events of the European Capital of Culture - Pafos2017 program.

From the Trojan War to today’s conflicts, the suffering endured during a war and the plight of war refugees never ceased to exist. The Trojan women is a protest against the absurdity, violence and atrocities imposed upon people as a consequence of war and a demand for peace, solidarity and humanity.  The actors of the performance come from divided cities (Nicosia, Mostar and Jerusalem) as well as from Syria and Greece. The play attempts to showcase the drama of division and the deeply rooted human need for reconciliation.

The performance is dedicated to the memory of Yannis Kounellis, who was to create the visual installation of the show.
