About the event:
The quintet was founded in 2011 and consists musicians from the Netherlands, Chile the United Kingdom and Cyprus. This multi-national group is comprised by some of the brightest, emerging jazz artists performing young original compositions by Cypriot guitarist Ermis Michail.

About the event:
This international production offers a different, fresh and surprising approach to Aristophanes’ comedy featuring actors from different troubled lands (12 actors from Cyprus, Brazil and Nigeria). The origin of the participants is meaningful, as they all contribute to the play with their personal and collective experiences and cultural particularities, making the performance a dialogue between Africa, South America and Europe. The performance is accompanied by a band of musicians from Germany and is directed by Brian Michaels.

The Berlin Philharmonic is one of Europe’s greatest orchestras, with hundreds of concerts, performances and recordings all over the world. The great conductor Mariss Jansons, who was for many years the Artistic Director of the Vienna Philharmonic, will conduct the Berlin Philharmonic for the European Concert in Pafos. Apart from its artistic excellence, which is highlighted only by the presence of the Philharmonic, the Concert contributes significantly to the promotion of the European idea and gives prominence to the European dimension for the implementation of the European Capital of Culture in Pafos.
