Awarded bassist, composer and producer Petros Klampanis, invites two young and very promising Greek musicians, Jason Wastor (drums) and Rafael Meleteas (piano). Τhe three musicians share with us their perspective on the piano trio sound, performing Klampanis' compositions, as well as reimagined covers, at the stage of Athens' legendary Half Note Jazz Club.

The piano trio is one of the most popular jazz formations, if not the most popular. From the trios of Ahmad Jamal, Oscar Peterson of McCoy Tyner, to the trios of Bill Evans or Keith Jarrett or even more recently the Brad Mehldau Trio, this sound is intertwined with the history of jazz itself. Is there room for further development to this great lineage?
Petros Klampanis is known for his experiments with larger ensembles. However, in 2019 he released his first trio album “Irrationalities” on the German label Enja, which was praised on international outlets, and was awarded at the 2020 Independent Music Awards, in three categories: ‘Jazz Instrumental’ & ‘Vox Pop/Jazz Instrumental’ awards for ‘Easy Come, Easy Go’, the opening track of the album and ‘Jazz Producer’ award for Petros Klampanis' overall production of the project.
