The play "My Beloved Smyrna" by Mimi Dennisi is presented by Polemidia Lyceum, in the framework of the 33rd Pancyprian Theater School Games, commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Asia Minor Catastrophe. The play was written after many years of research on Smyrna and historically it covers the period from 1917 until the exile of 1922.
ATTENDANCE AT THE EVENT IS ALLOWED AT 75% CAPACITY BY PRESENTING ONE OF THE FOLLOWING :
- Valid Certificate of Complete Vaccination or
- Valid Recovery Certificate covid-19 or
- Negative PCR / Rapid test (72 Hours)
People under the age of 6 can attend the event without any Certificate

The text describes, through the story of the Baltatzis family, the extraordinary life of the cosmopolitan capital of Ionia until its destruction. The multicultural society of Smyrna with the Levantines, Armenians, Turks and Greeks, the exceptional lifestyle, the oriental cuisine and music, all these harmoniously combine the elements of all ethnicities that come to life through the personal stories of the heroes. And of course, in the background, policies and conflicting interests are depicted along with the political aspirations that led to the devastation of this unique city.
