О мероприятии:
"Genuinely funny and genuinely romantic," wrote the New York Times. "A play that delightfully combines comedy and drama. It is so human that it touches the soul and heart of all of us!"
IN THE STORY OF THE PLAY, George and Doris enter into an illicit affair and they only meet once a year ever since, always on the same day, at a motel in San Francisco. For 25 years! An oasis relationship, as love, as friendship, as love, as play, as pain, as laughter. A relationship so outside and so inside their lives and in their legal and conventional relationships. Both of them are married with children, many children. So they have to share everything in 24 hours, while picking up their relationship from where they have left it a year ago! They have to discover what has changed ever since and what has left the same, what hurt and what has put a new spin on themselves. And a "painting" is being created in front of our eyes. They were almost teenagers when they first met and now they are middle-aged... They were neurotic and remained neurotic, they were innocent and remained innocent. How important they are for each other, they will slowly discover, when that moment for the big decision to take is coming to life.
The play is translated by Marialena Kotsaki and the performance is directed by Varnavas Kyriazis.

"Same time next year" is one of the best-known plays by award-winning and popular Canadian playwright Bernard Slade. It was considered a popular romantic comedy of the twentieth century when it first appeared, and is now considered a classic comedy that counts dozens of performances. It first premiered on Broadway in 1975, was nominated for the Tony Award, won the Drama Critics' Award as an outstanding new American play, played to packed houses for four consecutive years in New York and then toured the United States, played for three and a half years in Paris and was quickly performed in thirty-three countries! A Tony Award for Best Actress to Helen Burstein? and the play itself was nominated for the same award. In 1978 it was made into a film with Bernstein and Alan Alda, with both leads nominated for an Academy Award and Slade, who had written the screenplay, was nominated for an Academy Award for screenwriting. Slade was one of Broadway's leading writers and the momentum of his works was often compared to that of Noel Coward and Neil Simon. Last year, another great play by Bernard Slade, "Special Occasions", was produced at the Anemona Theatre.
