First Concert: "Roots in Rhythm"
In the first concert of the series, Sistema Cyprus returns to Larnaca on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at 6:00 PM. Young musicians from the Nicosia Juniors Orchestra and the Larnaca Wind and Percussion Orchestra join forces to deliver an unforgettable musical performance inspired by diverse musical genres and historical periods and will perform works for winds, strings, and percussion, offering a lively and energetic experience. 

The program includes a wide range of musical compositions, such as the iconic masterpiece Ode to Joy by Ludwig van Beethoven, as well as contemporary works like Modus Cyprius, a piece dedicated and composed for Sistema Cyprus by the talented Cypriot composer Andreas Michalopoulos.

This variety of works highlights the power of music to bridge cultural diversities, foster dialogue and collaboration, and promote social inclusion. The concert will take place under the artistic direction of Sistema Cyprus’s Artistic Director and Conductor Santiago Ossa Alzate and conductor Angelo Lalla. 
 

Second Concert: "Wings in Harmony"
The second concert will focus on the more advanced students of Sistema Cyprus from the Nicosia Intermediate Orchestra. The event will be held on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at 6:00 PM, promising an evening filled with music, excitement, and passion.

The young musicians of Sistema Cyprus will perform solo, symphonic, and chamber music compositions, showcasing their dedication and hard work. The program will include Antonio Vivaldi’s Violin Concerto in G major performed by Milena Nedelcheva, Ludwig van Beethoven’s Romance No.2 for Violin in F Major performed by Julia Shalash, K.D. von Dittersdorf’s Double Bass Concerto No.2 in E Major performed by Haider Naji and Constantinos Christodoulou, and Leroy Anderson’s The Typewriter performed by Nikolina Lambou. The concert is an excellent opportunity to support and enjoy the efforts of these talented upcoming young artists. 
 

The concert will be held under the direction of Sistema Cyprus’s Artistic Director and Conductor Santiago Ossa Alzate.

Through the formation of orchestras and choirs, El Sistema acts as a superb model, reaching children and young people to many of the world’s challenging neighborhoods.
