A few words for the musicians

Nadezda Pisareva was born in 1987 to a musical couple. She graduated from the Central Moscow Music School and later studied under Sergej Dorenskij at the Moscow Conservatory. Through the support of the DAAD, she also studied with Klaus Hellwig at the Berlin University of the Arts, where she completed her concert exam. Her education was further enhanced by masterclasses with Elisabeth Leonskaja, Abdel Rachman El Bacha, Maia João Pires, Stephen Kovacevic, and others.

In 2010, she received the Silver Medal and Chamber Music Prize at the Scottish International Piano Competition in Glasgow. In 2015, she won the third prize and the Audience Prize at the international piano competition in Val Tidone, Italy. Nadezda Pisareva also achieved success at the International Music Competition of the ARD in 2014 (Bärenreiter-Urtext Prize) and in competitions in France, Spain, Czech Republic, and the USA.

From 2014 to 2016, she was a member of the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation “Live Music Now Berlin.” She performed with the Royal Chamber Orchestra of Wallonia in Brussels in 2016.

Following her debut at the Shanghai Oriental Arts Center in October 2017, she held concerts in sixteen Chinese cities and embarked on a tour with eleven additional performances the following year. In 2015, she appeared at the Verbier Festival Academy.

Her first CD, a Schumann recital, was released in 2013 by Classical Records. This was followed by a duo production with saxophonist Hannah Stohl in collaboration with the Mecklenburg Foundation and Deutschlandradio Kultur. In 2021, she recorded Beethoven’s “Hammerklavier Sonata” and Schubert’s Moments musicaux thanks to the support of a Neustart Kultur scholarship, which were released by Genuin in 2022.

Chamber music holds a special place in Nadezda Pisareva’s life. She has performed with the Casals Quartet, violinist Diana Tishchenko, cellist Andreas Brantelid, and collaborates in a duo with colleague Georgy Tchaidze. In the 2023/24 season, Nadezda Pisareva will be heard at venues such as the Leipzig Gewandhaus and the Konzerthaus Berlin. Since 2021, she has been a lecturer at the University of the Arts in Berlin.

The critic of The Telegraph discovered “a fine sensitivity and a perfectly refined technique” in pianist Georgy Tchaidze when he debuted at London’s Wigmore Hall. Since winning the Honens International Piano Competition in 2009, he has successfully performed across Europe and North America, appearing at prestigious venues in Berlin, Amsterdam, Brussels, New York, Toronto, Shanghai, and various festivals from Germany to Canada.

In the summer of 2015, Tchaidze won the first prize at the fourth Top of the World International Piano Competition in Tromsø, Norway. This led to an invitation to perform at the Lofoten International Chamber Music Festival on behalf of Sir András Schiff. His recent engagements include concerts with the Cleveland Symphony Orchestra (conducted by Bramwall Tovey) and the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra (conducted by Leonard Slatkin), as well as the Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra (conducted by Alexandre Bloch).

Georgy Tchaidze was born in 1988 in St. Petersburg. He began piano and violin lessons at the age of seven and graduated from the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory as a student of the “Russian People’s Artist” Sergey Dorensky. He earned his master’s degree at the Berlin University of the Arts under Klaus Hellwig. From 2014-2016, he was a fellow of the Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now Foundation in Berlin, and in September 2016, he became the artist in residence at the Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth in Belgium, directed by Louis Lortie.

Tchaidze is increasingly recognized and valued as a sensitive chamber music partner, regularly performing with ensembles like the Canadian Cecilia String Quartet and the Borodin Quartet. He has collaborated with the Brentano String Quartet and musicians such as Piotr Anderszewski, Stephen Kovacevich, Jean-Efflam Bavouzet, Marc-André Hamelin, and Nikolai Lugansky. Since the 2022 season, Georgy Tchaidze has been a member of the Trio in residence at the Vienna Konzerthaus. He has released three CDs with the Honens label: a live recording with the Cecilia String Quartet, a Schubert recital, and an album featuring solo works by Nikolaj Medtner, Modest Mussorgsky, and Sergei Prokofiev.
