Theatre of Russian Ballet Moscowia presents in Ancient Theatre Curium, 26 September, at 20:30, Ballet "The White Rose of Harem", music by Bizet, Schnittke and East music with percussion and drums.
The ballet was created on the basis of classical and contemporary ballet with oriental dance and belly dancing.
This is a love story with a cheerful, funny situations, light and merry with a happy ending.
A young man, Zair, saves a beautiful captive named Angelica from the slavers. To facilitate their escape the girl changes into a slaver’s outfit. Together they arrive to the house of rich Ali-bey, Zair’s father. At the celebrations thrown for Zair’s return Ali-bey invites his son and his “friend” to compete in agility and strength. Angelica, who is still wearing men’s clothes, falls down and her secret is revealed. Ali-bey, who is furious at first, forgives his son and is charmed by Angelica. He wants her to belong to him only. But Zair is in love and comes with a plan…
